If you’re staying in our Downtown Collection, you’re already closer to Lake Eola Park than most Orlando residents get to live. It’s the green heart of the city — a mile-long walking path, a fountain that lights up at night, and swan-shaped paddle boats that have been an Orlando rite of passage since before the theme parks existed.
Start your morning with a lap around the lake. It’s flat, shaded, and about 25 minutes if you keep a relaxed pace — longer if you stop for the black swans, which are the park’s unofficial mascots and surprisingly unbothered by tourists. On Sunday mornings, the eastern edge of the park fills with the Lake Eola Farmers Market: local produce, kombucha, handmade soap, and enough breakfast tacos to fuel the rest of your day.
Walk five minutes south and you’re in Thornton Park, Orlando’s original walkable neighborhood. Brick-lined streets, converted bungalows turned into wine bars, and a concentration of good coffee shops that punches well above its size. It’s the kind of place you wander through rather than rush, which is exactly the point of staying downtown instead of out by the parks.
In the evening, the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and the Kia Center both sit within an easy walk or short rideshare from most of our downtown homes, so a concert or a Magic game doesn’t mean fighting parking. For something lower-key, the paddle boats stay open past sunset, and there’s no better view of the downtown skyline than from the middle of the lake as the fountain lights come on.
This is the whole idea behind the Downtown Collection: ten individually designed apartments and lofts, walkable to everything that makes Orlando feel like a real city and not just a theme park exit. You’re not renting a room near the action — you’re staying inside the neighborhood locals actually live in.
If a Lake Eola morning and a Thornton Park evening sound like your kind of Orlando trip, take a look at our Downtown Collection and see which home fits. Browse our properties or check availability for your dates.
